MF 35 Light Switch

Hi all,

I am new to the forum and due to level of my tractor mechanical knowledge I reckon I'll be a regular.

The light switch on my 1961 MF 35, 3 cyl has 4 on positions(including off) and also pushes in.

The back of it doesn't look like any of the switches I've seen on forums or the wiring diagrams I have found.

Does anyone know which terminal goes to what, as I have no idea........ picture attached.

Also the wire to the headlamps has 2 wires, blue with red tracer and blue with white tracer, both with female connectors. Both head lamps have one of each coming from them, but only the blue with white tracer wires have male connectors, the blue with red tracer wires have female connectors. But the head lamps still come on plugging both blue with white in to the blue with white and blue with red, which confuses me no end.

Sorry to have rambled, any help would be greatly appreciated......

Thanks for the replies, I should be able to get it wired up right now.

I thought it the push in could be a horn, but I’m sure there isn’t a horn attached any where

Thanks again for the help

The middle terminal no 5 is horn I'm sure
The horns are on a separate push button usually.
Put a fuse on the feed wire if you can if the wireing is old

The wiring is the original wiring I think. So I’ll fit a fuse.

The Tractor was bought by my Grandad around 1970, being a typical Yorkshireman what ever ‘fit’ was used, so parts being genuine or ever the right part isn’t to be expected. As I’ve found out when changing other parts.

It’s certainly an education

Thanks
