Trying to take a Stanadyne injector pump off our MF3645. I've taken the front plat off and removed the 22m nut and spring washer. Should the gear now simple pull off with a couple 8mm bolts in the threaded holes?

Dont assume the gear is keyed to the shaft. Perkins engines certainly aren't on the later 1000 series and 1100 series. You set and lock engine on top dead centre then lock the injector pump before removing.
Your proberly not on a perkins though?
Yeah, the shaft is keyed.
"shafts have the keyway on the perkins but they don't have a key and the gear does not have a keyway just rely on the taper.
one to be aware of on the perkins engines "
Nothing's ever simple.
Just checked, it is a Perkins engine, but there no keyway on the shaft ,but there is a keyway in the gear.
