Anybody know if a mf 390t would handle a bale handler or double spike with two silage bales with ease. Mchale silage bales so some weight in them

Dry bales you will be fine . Neighbour used to help cart with the slightly more modern equivalent with same back end , required a jolt of the clutch to get two wet bales lifted

It's a 95hp tractor with little more than a 165 back end. It'll lift 2 bales ok but for how long...over rough land? A 398 would be a different matter...
Yup our 398 can handle 2 alright, but really knows they are there, and could do with a bit more weight than just the front loader on the front for any sort of climbing. Would not like to be trashing it around rough tracks all day long either as am pretty sure things would get stressed. Tractor has hook end lift arms and 2 assistor rams. Bales from a new welger baler

It'll depend on the grass that's in the bales. With a Fleming double lifter our David Brown 996 will lift 2 bales of first cut haylage no problem but for second cut silage our Case 844 needs a full set of weights and the front wheels are only just touching the ground. The 844 is longer and heavier than a 390t. All of our bales are out of a Fusion 3.

Our 399 can't lift 2 bakes from our 5500 mchale.ts115 with loader is light until u get one on the stacker. New pump and 2 assister rams and he hydraulics all set. Can just lift a 4f reversible plough but not 2 bales

God I’m quiet surprised that a 399 can’t lift 2 bales being a 100hp tractor. You need to slacken the density gauge on the Baler 😁

I know they are a bit of a cult classic but the 300 series always seemed to me to be a souped up 60hp tractor that was completley under designed for the jobs it was supposed to do. The 3000 series was in a different leauge
