MF 40 digger slew motor

Simon,

The MF 40 Parts Book I have is Publ. No. 819 605 M1 (Issue 1) 9/71. It has three sections (A) Tractor Unit, (B) Digger Unit (formerly MF 220/7) and (C) Loader Unit.

Anyway, not to matter. Hopefully the attached scanned pages (provided both as jpg images & pdfs) will provide you with the information needed ...... apologies for the quality but difficult to get the book to lay flat on the scanner. You can just about make out all the numbers on the parts list.

Strange thing! Regarding your Slew Post Bottom Bearing (Item 44 on the drawing) it's marked up as Part No. 870 830 M1 up to machine serial no. C 11807, but Part No. 873 021 M1 from m/c serial no. 11808 onwards. Nothing strange in that, but you'll see there's a typo in the parts listing.

Anyway hope all this helps. I needn't feel guilty now!

Andy, you are a star! Thank you very much - that will certainly help me to source/make the necessary pieces of the jigsaw to get the back actor working again. And there was never any need to feel guilty!

I'll get on the Agrimanuals and see if they can source the full book. It never occurred to me that it might not cover the 'extra' bits!

Anyway, thanks again - really appreciate your help.

No problem .... happy to help. ... the full manual is nearly 30 mm thick so make sure you get the whole thing. ... It does all have the same Publ. No.

Just remembered to report back on my dealings with Agrimanuals - I ordered the parts book for the MF40, and all that came was the book for the tractor skid (no loader or backhoe).
I emailed them to ask if they would do me a deal on the other two parts books, and 2 days later both books arrived in the post at no additional cost :) So I am a very happy customer, and would thoroughly recommend Agrimanuals' customer service.
