Any good? Just how bad is the overheating risk? Or, should I stick to the conventional snout?

I’m just looking for a relatively basic tractor, thats just powerful enough to comfortably do the job; I’m not going contracting. Any other tractor recommendations at the same sort of money (sub £20k).

Thanks

I have a 4355 snoopy had it from new and its not overheated, use it for mowing also loader work, it was pulling 30 round bales back from 5 miles away the other day when it was really hot with no problem
given the choice I would have a snoopy tractor over a standard bonnet even for non loader work, why would you want to look at a bonnet all day rather than see whats in front of you

My thoughts exactly; although they do look a touch peculiar.:wacky:

Thanks.

I’d say it would be fine, we’ve got a 6455 snoopy here, newer I know but still snoop Bonnet, that’s never had heat problems and done plenty of hard/dusty work, power harrowing, baling, corn carting, running the drier etc

We had a new 4355 and MF loader for about 6 years
No issues with overheating and visibility great.
We did not like the 12/12 gearbox on this basic spec Classic tractor. The stiffness in the 3 to 4 plane never went away. MF said it needed lighter oil for our gentle use. Cost a lot but made no difference.
Fell out with it and bought something else. I think MF also had a power shuttle and other gearbox options at the time which might be much better. Gearbox excepted it was a really nice machine.

Yes, they’re available with power shuttle: that’s what I’d go for.

Personally I would not go for the power-shuttle 24x24. Best keep it simple in that range of tractors in my opinion. The 24x24 is very nice to use though, and fairly popular.

Radiator blockages? Take a blower to is from the fan side now and again and remove the side panels every couple of time you blow. If you haven't got one already, get a petrol hand held leaf blower from your local groundscare dealer. It should be less than £200 and the tractor is just the excuse you need to buy one. It will keep your yard and workshop/shed nice and dust and debris free as a bonus.
