MF 5455 and Loader

We used to have 5445 with loader and electric shuttle. Pretty good on loader, clutch sensor problems and oil leaks at our winter temperatures let it down (had to be cut in half twice due to a seal leaking). Did a bit over 4000 hours in 5 years.

Couldn’t rate them highly enough really. Been running them for 18 years with minimal bother. Look at front axle pivot wear when viewing. Damper plate between engine and gearbox is a consumable, but you just need to take that on the chin, not too bad. Check for evidence of greasing if front axle and loader. Check all electric work too as these can have gremlins. Clutch switches can fail, but readily fixed.

I have an 06 5455 dyna 4, 3000 hours with loader ( but rarely fitted). Excellent and reliable, just lacks grunt on hills with a full load. Upgraded oil at 100l/min is a must. Only had to replace the clutch pedal sensor, snoopy bonnet gives great visibility. According to my local dealer hold their value and good reliability.

Had one, wish I had not sold it, worth more now than when I sold it.

Very simple tractor, had a MF loader on it, (945), punched above its weight

We’ve a 5455. Tier 2. Done 7500 hrs. Bee a peach. Longest day was a 140 mile round trip. We’ve down about 4000hrs in 5 years in it. Front axle wear has been our most expensive repair.

Can the oil pump be upgraded if its not already fitted?
