Hello! I've translated part of my MF homepage to English, other parts are still in Finnish. Plenty of pics there too anyway. http://www.haapasalontila.fi/MF590hydraulics.html Please let me know if I've written something very funny. Greetings from Finland!
Now translated a page where Massey Ferguson 565 steering pump is replaced with 300-series tandempump. http://www.haapasalontila.fi/MF565hydraulics.html
I can translate it next, may take a few days. Thank you all for comments! Not so many MF 1200 in my country.
All tractors on homepage are mine. There some photos of 390 and Valmet 805 on Finnish pages, that can be found via mainpage. Should load some pictures of those 565 and 590 and I have also MF135.
Finished the page where I repair MF 390 tandem pump, that was used to replace 565 steering pump. Gave me an excuse to lift this thread up: http://www.haapasalontila.fi/MF390tandempump.html
Now finished that damn long page of Massey Ferguson 565 linkage pump renovation, tractor was torn apart many ways. http://www.haapasalontila.fi/MF565linkage.html
Not exactly. I think the control settings are bit wrong and some gears in transmission make noise. Maybe knocking isn't right impression. The linkage tries to correct position too rapidly and Fergies make that noise then.
Our 565 makes a knocking noise when lifting a heavy weight , mechanic says it could be worn dowel pins that stop pump rotaing in the housing , have you checked yours , just an idea .
I've heard that before, this is probably one reason, but I thing the whole transmission line before pump make that noise. Pins or holes in pump were not worn much. I should take a steel bar and put one end close to my ear and other end to casting. Maybe find out the noisiest part?
I don't know what causes it, no doubt it gets worse with age and wear, 398 and 65 do it when arms get to the max height, they don't knock under normal working load but do with heavy loads
Thanks for the reply , seems like our 565 is the same as your two Fergies , must be just the way they are .
