I would say, practically, 8 tonnes.
There is absolutely no evidence for that number - it's mere speculation.

not a bad number as it's ulw is 3tI would say, practically, 8 tonnes.

Used to pull 10 T silage trailers with 168s and 590s, and Leyland 272s, in the eighties, but in those days we knew how to drive them!!
should get the trailer brakes sorted out thenPulling that weight I cannot see a problem but stopping with useless brakes thats a different matter.

nothing wrong with 590 brakes far less hassle than a lot of what they fit now
no wonder you can't stop thenBrakes on a trailer now theres a novelty.
Possibility an option, not standard anywayWas the 590 fitted with trailer brakes back then ? I doubt it. Maybe something plugged into a spool valve.....if you're lucky.
I thought it sounded fair.not a bad number as it's ulw is 3t
It will pull much more than 3500kg, that's just what the rules limit it toI thought it sounded fair.
The ULW of my pickup is 1998KG but it will pull 3500KG - a not too dissimilar ratio.
The mark one trailer brakes was a stone, the mark 2 was connected to the tipping pipe, on most tractors.
On the 590, not sure where you'd put it ..............

Is that a word? I have never heard 'chog', beforeIf the trailer had a hand brake on a tipping trailer you where lucky. Normally a chog of wood on the wheels was the effective handbrake.
tip pipe on pressure control quadrant or plug in a spool both worked perfectly well and are still legal nowWas the 590 fitted with trailer brakes back then ? I doubt it. Maybe something plugged into a spool valve.....if you're lucky.
sorry they didnt invent chibble dads been using it for yearsIs that a word? I have never heard 'chog', before
My next door neighbours are masters at inventing words. 'Stublet' and 'chibble' are a couple of recent ones
