MF 6290 fuel pump

My 6290 isn't governing quite right. Mainly noticeable when shunting around the yard at low revs, when you are reversing up to a trailer for example and are on and off the clutch it can float up and down on revs a bit. Any simple fix or is a pump off job for a an overhaul?. Cheers

I'd be inclined to throw 5l of ATF into the fuel tank first.Some may say to use 2 stoke oil. ATF has always given good results for me. The metering valve might just be sticky.

As above or someone mentioned Worth injector cleaner.
Has the injector pump got the dreaded electronic head, bolted to the top of the mechanical pump (a VP pump), I wonder.

Just the mechanical pump on these. The electronic VP came with the 5465 and 6465 to 64/7480 and so on. Stage 2 emissions I think.

Where can a fuel pump boost diaphragm for a 6290 be bought from as my local Massey Ferguson dealership parts department can't,/ won't find it on their system??
Part number would be handy if possible please.

It's my mates tractor and he's relinquished and bought a new fuel pump as the pump has awful low torque below 2000 rpm and the tractor hardly pulls the skin off custard then apparently

It was to do with the down time as new pump was around £700 he said and I guess a recon would be heading that way

good move,from my experience a recon pump can be nothing but trouble, got the tea shirt !!

If it’s the datatronic version or equivalent
I did have the metoring gears jam up with dirt it gave those symptoms then stopped
