Slipping all the time?
Test point for a gauge out towards the front of the gearbox if I remember correctly, where the pipes go into the MP unit. Flicking the control, while watching the gauge will tell if the oil pressure is getting away in the MP pack, or you have no pressure regardless of control valve position (pump or broken pipe in the back end). But if the pressure was down for any length of time due to a bad pump, probably the MP pack will need plates anyway, due to heat/slipping.

Mechanical PTO or hydraulic?

If the tractor is coming right money wise, throw it in the shed until you have the time to sort it out?

I bought mine without seeing it running. Wouldn't change up to high. I nearly cried. Ten min fiddling with the linkage she was spot on. As said if she been running with plates slipping they will be cooked. New plates can't be that dear.pump maybe couple of hundred

Mine wasn't working either took the top cover off cleaned the linkage pump filter and the multi power filter , still nothing, right check the pressure .When I took the pipe off the pump I discovered it had slackened off the metal pipe going through the gear box after a bit difficulty managed to connect it up .Sorted , as luck would have it the next job was to refit the core plug in the bottom of the steering box so that gave me the chance to check the pipe properly . as to the pump its self it was listed at £900 odd from massey .Howford hydraulics couldn't source any whether a single pump for a 100 series could be modified to fit I dont know

I think the low pressure pump for the MP and later PTO piggyback on the bigger lift pump?

Dont let the little roller fall under the main pump.
If splitting , be aware of clearance of pipes and bolt heads on clutch.
Keep hyd cover bolts tight, it is most of the strenth of the gearbox housing

Seems that pump was manufactured by Cessna the pressure gauge was reading just shy of 500psi a 135 is supposed to be 600 according to the workshop manual
