Hi, im in the process of splitting mf 8120 between gearbox and rear axle. Do i need to remove handbrake plates? Or will the output shaft slide out from the rear? Manual says only to remove lever and unscrew control pin (shaft that moves the cam?)

Hare/tortoise synchro is broken. Handbrake needs to come off anyway, but would probably be easier to split it first if possible. Not sure why the shaft needs to be unscrewed? Why do you want to split it? Some things can be done without.
If you really do need to, it's the handbrake actuator shaft you need to unscrew and hold up out the way. Remove the cable, return spring, their bracket. There's a split pin holding the arm to the shaft, smack the arm rearwards to release the shaft, it's threaded at the bottom end inside if you see what I mean. Once the shaft is free to turn remove the arm and unscrew the shaft, lift it up till its up against the fuel tank and secure with a bit of wire or string. Don't forget the 2 screws with the 1/2 Allen key head at the bottom, you need to remove the 4wd drop box or the flat plate under the gearbox according to model and spec.
