MF 966 loader problem

Bought a 6480 last year with a 966 loader. I haven't needed to use it much but for some reason sometimes it won't go up and the tilt/crowd and 3rd service is really slow all the time. It seems if I start moving with the tractor the loader will then intermittently rise at full speed but not for long.
Its cable controlled and the lever doesn't feel very positive if you know what I mean, anyone shed some light?

Sounds like either the cable outer is not tightly clamped, where goes into valve block, or maybe spring issue in end cap.
Another place to check is that the joystick inners are as they should be, know few to break, after hang bate bag off them.

The trima badged quickie that i used to have did this the allen studs used to work loose where the cable outer goes into the valveblock under the cab. It just needed tightening periodically.
