MF Delta 9380 - UK first!

I am not keen on brand bashing, as in general, most modern kit is good. I will however say that we would be hesitant to have a Massey, even if it was less than half the price of a New Holland or Claas.

You hear horror stories about all brands but then there are lots of them running. Despite only selling a handful a year, you still hear plenty of horror stories about MFs. I would hope that they haven't managed to wreck the Laverda based ones, as they were on the whole, rather good in my view.

They are Laverda's!
MF, Fendt, CAT and Laverda branded machines are all made in the same Italian factory. Only difference is the colour of the paintwork.
Reckon they would sell more in the UK if they marketed the Fendt ones here but they say brand dilution would be a concern.

The gearbox went on our 05 570 on Friday night. The next day the dealer drove a demonstrator combine over 100 miles from the black isle down to our farm arrived 11 at night. We will have cut over 300 acres with demo machine. Ours should be going again tomorrow. Would any other brand offer this sort of service for a 7 year old machine?

Unless it was purchased from them recently, I very much doubt it. That said though, a gearbox doesn't sound like a cheap (or quick) repair to me so it's probably warranted based on that.

You're getting confused between brand and dealer! Nothing to do with the brand!

It's not all down to the dealer though, it is the whole customer support ethos from manufacturer, (distributor) and dealer chain. It's no good if the dealer gets crap support, they can't offer good support if the backup from the manufacturer/distributor is not there. Garbage in garbage out.

I agree, but they obviously want to sell a new combine. If the poster had said my 570 has broken down but I've alreadydone a part ex for a JD for next harvest, I doubt the Claas dealer would have bothered coming to the rescue! On the other hand if he had said first combine here I will buy every brand would be there within a day!!

No, happily married bloke with two children, plenty of friends who wouldn't laugh at me saying lesbian when I meant Lexion anymore than saying "poo" or "Willy".

Its just not funny.
