Our 7720 with 2400hrs has just had the synchro done. All on warranty. Not abused or on masses of road work. Does not instill confidence to take it long out of warranty which would have been the plan.

Ours also dies on startup sometimes when you let clutch out. Software has been the biggest problem with this tractor.

Engineering design should be driven by need. At the moment the need is for lower cost and more reliable so I don’t know if they should be ploughing R&D into new gearbox designs.

An IVT with engine breaking would be nice though.
I would prefer an engine that stays in one piece. If you are referring to engine ‘braking’, then I have to tell you that full engine braking is utilised by the Fendt IVT. If you require more, then an exhaust brake is what you must have.

Imagine how many synchros and superfluous shifts a dual clutch mechanical powershift has and does.

I think it is time Mr frog should stick to making wine as they are no good at doing software for tractors, all these problems & still no answer as to why or when they will sort it it

How many people have had to do the Gearbox in a MF dyna 6 gearbox due to 3rd gear problems ?, ( Very common problem according to the Gearbox company that are going to overhaul it)
We had our first one go this week on a MF 7620, Its waiting to get the gearbox out to get repaired & we will see what this cost's
What are the symptoms of the 3rd gear synchro problem

A big killer of these is having pre select pre take off speeds set at two different ranges for forward and reverse. A dealer can change this option to only allow pre select to operate in the same range by adjusting tractors label code.
