MF Error Code

Aye-up,

my neighbour has a Massey 64 series tractor, he keeps getting error code E157 up on the dashboard.

It’s something to do with fuel filters, which have all been changed and all wiring checked to sensors etc.

However, it keeps letting him down, tractor repeatedly going into limp mode which is a bit dangerous on the roads.

Any thoughts?

Cheers, Pete

Right my teir 3 perky was doing this, eventually it got to be a bad starter. Change all fuel filters including the little square one above the glass bowl. Remove the glass bowl and fill full with injector cleaner then put it back on. Put some additive in the tank too. Fire her up and drive it like you stole it. It's seemed to have sorted my 6480 out. A fitter from an Mf dealer over the west told me what to do.

My 6475 tier 3 perkins was down on power, and stopping sometimes, changed all the filters , no better, thought the hand primer was a bit slow, so blew back the outlet from the tank , and went fine.

Make sure to drain and clean the glass bowl and totally flush through where the square filter sits, not enough to just change that filter as it won't remove the crap in the valve. When we had a 6485 it constantly did it the moment the smallest bit of moisture/sludge was in that area.
