How do you set up an inner boundary line on the fieldstar 5
It’s not Trimble only the receiver is Trimble the guidance is Massey ownHow do you set up an inner boundary line on the fieldstar 5
That was the issue you had with the system wasn’t it?It’s not Trimble only the receiver is Trimble the guidance is Massey own
No issues with the receiver or signal the issues were with the guidance software not being up to itThat was the issue you had with the system wasn’t it?
After being used to the c3000 it's going to be a bit of step backwards when the new tractor arrives I fear.
Mainly from an ease of use point, we have both systems in use at the moment and I just find things are a lot easier on the c3000 due to its larger display, more logical menu layout and there is as a lot more info on screen. I'm sure things are improving all the time with the new system whereas the c3000 has been abandoned long ago though so far I would say the c3000 has been massively more reliable than the newer system and last time I tried a demo 8s I wasted hours due to a software bug on the section control for which there really didn't seem to be a work around but I am assured that this has been fixed now.Can you explain how do you expect it would be a step backwards? I understand the software stability or bugs issue but that should gradually go away. The C3000 had SW bugs very recently and hasn't had real fixes since it was discontinued on AGCO tractors. The receiver is very outdated compared to the new one (irrespective if one goes for Novatel or Trimble).
Is that what you dealer has told you that Massey has sorted the software??Mainly from an ease of use point, we have both systems in use at the moment and I just find things are a lot easier on the c3000 due to its larger display, more logical menu layout and there is as a lot more info on screen. We have a good relationship with our dealer but I know what you mean, I think the version the tractor came with was something that clearly was rushed out but the big update did improve a lot of things. The lad who has the massey guidance has probably spent at least half of his time with it turned off due to frustration. My older topcon/massey guidance is far from perfect but I like it. One of the reasons for going with the full massey guidance, section control and variable rate is to try and reduce any conflicts and if it does play up then they can't try and blame a third party. Is that what you dealer has told you that Massey has sorted the software??
Massey back up to their dealers is sh!t
If it wasn’t for a good dealer I would have sent a tractor back to them
Don’t buy it until they’ve proved to you that the software is sorted!!!
What I should of said is the answer to the OP's question is in the video, I don't think you need section control unlocked just to draw an inner boundary. (Approx. 1 min in.)After being used to the c3000 it's going to be a bit of step backwards when the new tractor arrives I fear.
