Hi, does anyone know if an MF35 cross shaft will fit in a Fergie lift cover casing? They appear to be the same length and dia but cant really find out unless I get a shaft to see.
Am re building another Fergie, was owned from new by a cricket club and always on a set of gang mowers so the shaft and arms were in effect scrap, have managed to get another lift cover but that isnt much better. I have a set of bushes and some new arms (that I know will fit the 35 shaft) so should be able to rebuild it up ok if I can get a decent shaft or a new 35 one, they dont list a Fergie shaft new for some reason.
So just asking if anyone had done this swap?

Not able to give an answer to your query but I doubt it. We completely wore out the top cover and shaft on a TEF with 20+yrs of scraping. We managed to buy a complete TVO backend and then put the top cover and pump on the TEF as most of the TVO ones got put on light duties when the diesels came out so tended not to be as worn. I fitted grease nipples on the housing and it is still tight now.

Well I have ordered one, already have 37 spline lift arms new sat in the shed, the shaft ends are 37 spline so I will soon find out. Bought a 2nd hand lift cover but turns out it is no better than the one I had (but it isnt cracked so guess it's actually better!!!) Yes, I plan on fitting some grease nipples if the shaft fits.
Seems to be the one part you cannot but new for a T20!!!
