MF35 Lighting Switch

Hi,

Perhaps a strange question, but it's got my local parts seller a bit puzzled too.

A standard light switch plate is available for the 35/35x which has six positions, they are:

1 - OFF
2 - SIDE LIGHTS
3 - SIDE AND DIPPED HEADLAMP
4 - SIDE AND MAIN HEADLAMP
5 - MAIN HEADLAMP AND PLOUGH LAMP
6 - PLOUGH LAMP ONLY

And yet every single replacement light switch I've seen offered for sale only has three or sometimes four positions.

What am I missing? Something doesn't make sense to me.

Thanks for any help.

35 and 65 had a 4 position switch ,off , side .dip , main beam the ploughing lamp was fed from the side light feed , their was one armour covered red wire going back to the junction box under the rear rh side of the seat the light switch never had any back plate

Aha! Well that would make sense, mine has that four position switch already fitted, no back plate, so sounds like that is exactly as built. The ploughing lamp should have its own built-in switch in any case.

Thank you - that's one job less to do - just the ignition switch to replace then on mine as that only has two positions and can't be turned to the left for heat, obviously a (wrong) replacement.
