Been using my MF365 all winter for putting in round bales. Sewed small amounts of fertiliser too but while topping grass today iv noticed all 6 front wheel nuts are loosened and two r off. What could cause this? Where the studs come through is slightly worn now, should I replace the rim

You should've been checking them a while after they were put on or at least have noticed that they were unwinding as you walked around your tractor giving it a look for problems.

Having said that... I woke the farm manager his wife and kids as I passed down the road in Australia with an air seeder with a towed seed/fert hopper... I thought something never looked right as I walked back to the tractor after shutting a gate... All the nuts were off the rear wheel of the trailer (big fecker too) and it was rumbling about on the hub leaning at quite an angle. Feck knows how it had stayed on! It had been going round like that for a while going by the mess of the centre hole:oops:

P.S. You should've posted this in the machinery section and not the livestock and forage section(n)

Thanks for the reply [emoji106] I did realise once I’d posed this that it was added to the wrong section and tbh I didn’t spend any time walking all the way around my tractor checking each and every but bolt n screw, if I had I suppose this wouldn’t b a topic.

However it’s very irritating having the likes of u patronising me instead of just answering the question or trying to b a bit helpful [emoji849][emoji34] ah well can’t all b as efficient u but cheers davieh3350

They should have been as the front tires were replaced 14months ago!
14 months is along time ago...they’ve come loose because they were either not tightened properly or you’ve got a bearing going or something and there’s a build up of heat causing the nuts to expand and come slack.
If you’ve egged the wheel centres you’ll need a new wheel

No need to check every nut and bolt every day, but just observe stuff as you go by.
Your wheel came loose and wore the holes in your rim as you never checked them after a few hours use after re fitting them. they do sometimes come loose. Replace them if they're worn and going to get loose again.
As for the annoying patronising bit... :finger: Ya pr*ck.

These things happen, but the advice to check wheel nuts is on every tyre fitters invoice. If you look at HGV or bus wheels they normally have plastic bits, which show if nut is loose.

Since I started using time machine I have stopped having any break downs. It's really is great.

As this is the Livestock and Forage section the only answer to your problem is one of these..........

2
....put it back on and 'twitch it up' to 'oil rig' type torque - she'll be reet(y)

PS. If you can't get it tight enough*/aren't strong enough* (delete as appropriate), slip a 3' length of pipe over the end to get a bit more purchase.

NB. For more 'technical' information you need to pop along to the Machinery Section where they use torque wrenches, micrometers, etc and change oils and filters at recommended intervals ;)

A lot of smart ppl on this forum! Should have furthered they’re education. Tbf I’m holding my hands up lol Iv brought it all on myself
The whole place is full of smart arses. You'll get used to it(y)
There's an introduce yourself thread in agricultural matters, go and do a short story about yourself and your farm/hobby/whatever.
We're all still furthering our education as we go along.

Things happen..

Are they are flat face nuts? Like.. IMG_20190612_161501.jpg if so and the holes aren't too worn I wouldn't worry about replacing the rim. If they're counter sunk then it's a different story altogether.

No not flat. The nuts have a bevel on them as do the holes on the rim. Might b a new rim I’m going to need. Not sure if they are easily got as it’s a 1989 tractor lol

New2itall, you don't have to be roughty-toughty to wander these pages but it certainly helps if you can laugh at your own predicaments. As I've found recently, if you have a real issue support will flood in from all corners, however, post something that may give folk a chance to have a laugh or get up on their high horse you'd better be prepared to take the rough with the smooth. The balance always comes down in favour of help and gentle ribbing.
Things could be far worse for you, your name might rhyme with pee Crackham.

I am laughing at myself and fully accept I deserve all the taunts I’m getting. Original post was written at the end of an angry evening which was then posted in the wrong section and I hastily give snidding response to davieh3350. Appreciate all the advice but not all the slagging [emoji44]
