MF390 clutch problem

Hi, Looking for ideas re: clutch on MF390T (serial no E18057). New clutch kit fitted june 2011 (Sparex) and has never been right and its gradually gotten worse. The issue is that you cannot get the tractor in gear - it doesn't grind it just doesn't go in without a lot of forcing. The clutch is not slipping either. With the tractor in gear the shuttle is almost impossible to engage into forward or reverse. Its a Highline cab with a clutch cable (been replaced already) and the clutch is fully adjusted to the end stop. If the shuttle is in neutral then can select gears no problem but cannot engage the shuttle then. I'm ready to split the tractor again and fit a new clutch kit but don't want to spend EUR800 and still have the same problem. Is it possible the supplied clutch was the wrong type?

sounds like clutch is definately dragging and splitting again is the only option. clutch pedal should be adjusted to the same height as the brake pedals. did you fit a new spigot bearing? did you have the flywheel skimmed, if so was it skimmed to the right dimensions? has it done much work since replacement?

Spigot bearing was replaced. Flywheel was not skimmed and is in good condition. Tractor has very little work done - less than 3000hrs from new. Its a '96 tractor so maybe wrong clutch type was supplied.

Dad had a clutch fitted years ago on a DB, same problem. He got the tractor split again and it turned out the fingers on the clutch had bent. It is a different type of clutch and a different tractor but do not rule out that the clutch was made in china from monkey metal.
You may be better to get the clutch from MF, they do spares for older tractors at sensibleish prices.

do fergie make clutches then?it no a just an luk or borg and beck or summit?

last mf clutch i seen fitted was luk but mf 10+parts are excellent value for money, i had parts from @Partstech a couple of weeks ago for my mf65, some of the genuine parts were even cheaper than agriline parts, when i changed the water pump a few years ago genuine mf was cheaper than vapermatic
