I’m having my clutch changed on MF 398 4wd 12 speed 88 G plate and the mechanic that’s doing it for me prefers to go all Mf genuine parts. We are dealing with Chandlers and the new replacement clutch provided is slightly different to the original taken off in that the old one has about a dozen springs on and the new replacement is of the Belleville spring type apparently. Likewise the new provided pressure plate is a paddle type that is different to the old one taken off. The parts guy at Chandlers and my mechanic are leaning towards that “it should be alright” and the parts guy in particular pointing out that parts are being superseded all the time but nether the less is trying to get a definitive answer from Massey themselves. Thing is I could do with a answer today as Mechanic is meant to be coming tomorrow morning to fit and I’m not too sure I’m going to get a response in time from Massey.
