One for @Spud and @Speedstar I think.

Remember seeing it on here a while back but can't find it now I've got the problem, despite searching through the 6-7 threads on here about it.

Compressor kicks in every 1m22s now. Jumped up on the back of the tractor and can hear hissing from the black plastic box on the RH side by the mudguard.

Thanks. Could you run me through how the system (original Massey fit) works please?

I see the two plastic boxes, two red shocks at the rear, and guess there is a compressor somewhere.

Are the plastic boxes just air tanks?

The compressor is in a big black box under the Center of the cab and those tanks are air accumulators

Thanks. So if I go down the springs route....the plastic boxes can stay in place (but with compressor fuse removed)?

....and if I'm feeling brave and get an engineer to make me up some box section (or buy from Jacksons) then they replace the air tanks, but the rest stays untouched?

if I was you I’d pull the fuse before you burn the compressor out until you decide what your going to do a new one is £700 plus

Just reseal them, took
Mine apart put silicone either side of seal gently tightened them up put a bit of tyre seal in for good measure too. Charged it up feb time still never gone down much easier than new tanks

I bought two new ones for mine but before fitting them I drilled more holes between the existing ones and put in extra bolts to hold the two halves together better. I think after a while the heat from the transmission and the pressure trying to escape distorts the plastic.

Pull the fuse quick to stop the compressor burning out

As has been said, pull the fuse out now!
The compressor under the cab floor is fragile so won’t last long kicking in every minute or so.
We fitted new plastic tanks and also tried resealing with silicone and also mastic none of which lasted any longer.
We eventually bypassed the tanks and fitted quick release air couplings to the air bags and now just top up with the workshop compressor now and again, normally keeps up for 3 months!! We don’t have air brakes.
Brilliant compared with buggering about fitting new plastic tanks twice a year at £120 each.
The tank is an incredibly stupid design, there is no need for it to be in two halves.
