Can you not just bypass the compressor and let it run through the existing regulator valves ?

whats the point?
there are in the region of 15 joints in that box all prone to leak and the box isnt exactly easy to get at

i mounted the adjustable reg just under the small rear cab window so i can see the gauge and set it at 2.3 bar

The safety valve is there just in case the system Springs a major leak and it will isolate the cab workings under four bar

Can springs be retrofitted to a 5455 without cab suspension?

Fuse was changed from 50amp to 20 amp as per mf bulletin either at pdi or at service . Have replaced shocks on 2x mf 7480's with ones off mf5480 been on about 6weeks been no problems so far .saved 2 compressors and 4 tanks!also there is a common union in box which can leak air the one what screws into brass solenoid then goes via a pipe to relief valve

The air suspension is poor when it's working correctly!
Badly designed setup. I hope they don't fit it on newer tractors.

Iv done both of my 6480s without buying anything fancy, just take the black box out from under the cab, un plug the compressor and there is a regulator valve you can use inside, t that into the back of the air brake connector with some quick fit fittings and pipe.

Tanks are £75 each plus £9 carriage.

Seemed reasonable to me. I couldn’t get an engineer to make them for that money.....and it’s a fraction of the price of the rubbish MF version.

Only awkward but is they need to know the size of the fitting into the side of the air tank (by the side of the wheel, embedded in the mudguard). That meant taking the wheel off to get to it.

By the time I’ve done the research, bought the steel, paid a man £30/hr to cut, weld, drill, tap, paint etc. theres no saving to me at all so may as well buy them and save the time and hassle.

Nothing stopping you from making them. You’d have a large customer base on here....

No more than £10 each to make was a 5 min job to do & the photos are on here some were we did this back in 2012

I have put the springs on, the ride is no different in fact I think it may be slightly better and no more messing about with the air system.
