Michelin/ trelleborgs/BKT

936 is needing some new IF boots before long. BKTs are coming in considerably less than anything else, 5k less than one brand. Are they worth a punt? The trelleborgs have done well doing nearly 6k hours with tread left but side walls are starting to crack. Never run BKTs on high hp tractor before, anyone with any experience?

Remember @Rusty#1 had bkts on a big tractor and wasn't impressed.

I have them on a t7 260 and seem fine. Watch tyre width my bkt 710s are same width as trelleborg 650s.

Personally I wouldn't put budget tyres on a 936.

We have BKT on our 8360r and our 7310r and can’t fault them for grip but can’t really tell how they are going to wear as they are only 2 yr old but look good so far . If I had a tractor with 6000hrs I would go for BKT unless I was going to keep it for another 6000hrs . How many hours do you keep the tractors for ?

I put 650/65r38 on my mf and they are 650 wide
The michys were 2 inch narrower measuring 600

I must admit i have never measured them but trelleborgs on my last fendt did look wider but may be an illusion

Tractor has extended warranty to 8k

Our 600s on the front of our tractors do look narrower than the Michelin’s they replaced but grip as well .

Michelin invented IF, you need to ask yourself have the others managed to copy the technology well, you also need to ask what technology is to come, you can guarantee it won’t come from BKT. Invest in the best as they say.

I don’t think BKT are a buget brand. We are getting more hours out of them than Michelin

No, easier to sell or moved along maybe. Where is the market for 10k hrs 900 series now? Back home or more Eastern Europe?

I’d of thought a tidy one with a dealer service history would be sold on in the uk

For me yes, when I see forklifts and tractors with cheap tyre replacements I either walk away or look very hard at all other areas.

In certain instances, put them to work at low inflation pressures feeding some horsepower through them.

Yes I would say so , I would put michelin on
That is what we are putting back on our 939 as it needs new Tyres as well
