Mid tier capital works extension

Has anyone had the deadline for completing capital works extended by 12 months to the end of next year?
My wife has an agreement in her name for a block of off lying ground which started in 2018, so the capital works had to be completed by the end of this month. The RPA wrote in July stating that due to COVID, they were offering the opportunity to extend the deadline by a year, and that you didn’t need to respond if you wanted to accept the offer. Unfortunately she did respond, albeit saying that we did want to accept the extension.
She never heard back, despite contacting them, until she got through last week by phone. The RPA are now denying sending the offer letter out, even though we responded to it.
Did anyone else get it?

Yes had a letter in July extending capital work until 31st December 21. Had a message on rpa portal last week notifying our agreement comes to a end December 20. I was hoping this was a automated message and wouldn’t be a problem. Will send rpa a email for clarification.

I’ll be interested to know how you get on, and will be happy to keep you informed of our progress. The RPA said we’d received a generic letter by mistake, but we pointed out that it had our agreement details on it, and the correct scheme start and end date.

Spoke to a helpful guy at the ministry, he told me nothing to worry about, the extension is in place. He mentioned a lot of automated messages have been sent out. It might be worth calling back and speaking to someone different.

Had an email this morning confirming that we do qualify for a years extension. The email states that it should be kept for evidence at a later date in case it’s queried. Worth chasing them up I suggest.
