Sadly I had to kick up a real fuss, having said that I wouldn't be surprised if they said it to shut me up and everyone gets their letters the same day as me

Well we're less than satisfied with it as it has been, always waiting for that "good year". bg control has been difficult so we have leant further and further to cultural methods, the drier is nearly worn out but will last years with half the throughput. I think for 5 years it will do the farm good to have a break. If we like it then great, if not we go back to conventional. It will be hugely interesting too

Agreed, i think the conventional farming lobby can learn some useful things from the organic sector at times. There is more than one way to skin a cat....

To be honest, i'm wondering if to accept an offer if i get one. The only options bumping the payments up to anywhere near what i was getting on HLS, are putting 30 acres into arable reversion with nil fertiliser. This is land that could grow maize and make as much money, without the rules and regs.

Had an email wanting more information on a couple of things. Photos etc, need to get motivated and get back to them. Presumably it's not a no.
