Had a guy offer me the exact same thing last week. Rent rate was quoted £150/acre.

cannot do this option on land that has an erosion or run off risk so most heavyer land is ineligable
Why does heavier land have that? Surely not an issue where it’s flat?

A bit dear yes. But if you have organic manure to use you can still get a decent cut off it, then the rest of the grazing season.

all heavy land round here has enough slope to mole it and has run off
when w first claimed els we shoud have not declared run off risk
I thought there was a defined slope angle in the handbook. Must have dreamt it

This paragraph needs to be considered when planning grazing (and rent!):
"The sward will be left to rest for at least 5 weeks between 1 May and 31 July, so that the majority of red clover flowers are open and available for pollinators."
This was the main reason I didn't want to claim GS4 on my herbal leys at my last farm as it wouldn't have fitted a mob grazing rotation. As it happened, the gamekeepers managed to persuade the boss to order that we didn't graze it during the bird nesting season then top/graze it in the autumn before he shot partridges over it
We may as well have claimed the GS4 on it after all!

Plan would be sheep in winter then sheep and cattle in summer.
