Got a LLeyn had 4 Beltex cross lambs and 36 hrs later has milk fever. She responded well to Calciject under the skin (back up in 15 mins), should I repeat the dose through the night or does one do it. Bottle not got much info' and don't fancy annoying vet on a Sat' night if someone on here knows how milk fever runs.

You can get oral calcium paste from Animax. It’s a squeezable plastic bottle and a dosing tube you put on top. One bottle is the dose for a dairy cow so you only need to give a fraction to a ewe. It gets into their system very quick though.

Useful to know of that product - every day`s a school day, cheers.
OP might of more chance of finding a vet on a Sat night though.... :ROFLMAO:

I've really had to trawl the depths of my memory. Two doses and the ewe was okay. However one ewe somewhat later, maybe only 5 years ago was down (and maybe really too far gone or requiring different treatment ) and I mistakenly thought I could get her back to health had doses over 4 days and died. Talking later to the vet he said I'd probably poisoned her. Really I should have given an initial dose and then supportive therapy.
I can actually get a vet within 30-40 minutes any day of the week and any time of night. My local vets are amazing, and relatively cheap too. 140 quid for a 3am Sunday morning Cesar last year.
