And yet no sign of a price drop or people being told to dump milk because we are too busy to collectSpring flush must be kicking in, tankers running about in all directions, picking up little bits of milk left because the 1st tanker was full, neighbour had 4 tankers up his lane before he got tank emptied the other day, (not massive farm either 150-200 grazing cows). Route planners solution today, sent him to the neighbours before he picked us up today, so neighbour got tank emptied but turned up here with only space for 500ltrs in tanker
Happens every year here , changed route just as we started calving, lorry was over loaded 4 days ago here with 2 farms to pick up, not really a flush just planning ( we've calved in the same date for 22 years now)Spring flush must be kicking in, tankers running about in all directions, picking up little bits of milk left because the 1st tanker was full, neighbour had 4 tankers up his lane before he got tank emptied the other day, (not massive farm either 150-200 grazing cows). Aye maybe so, but I can't see national milk production expanding much at that price, more needed me thinks if they want more milk...Fm up 2 pence to 42p. Might be naive but that’s enough to make a profit at current input prices
Trouble is current input prices are a lot lower than they will be next month and the month afterFm up 2 pence to 42p. Might be naive but that’s enough to make a profit at current input prices
Takes it to 40.5ppl standard liquid litre (42ppl manufacturing) for 1st June? They're starting to leg well behind the pack.Fm up 2 pence to 42p. Might be naive but that’s enough to make a profit at current input prices
If they still broker a fair bit they should come on strong later in the year.Takes it to 40.5ppl standard liquid litre (42ppl manufacturing) for 1st June? They're starting to leg well behind the pack.
After October will see current contracted cake prices hike upwardsF

Why do you want it expanding though? We all know what happens when theres too much milk aboutAye maybe so, but I can't see national milk production expanding much at that price, more needed me thinks if they want more milk...
Feed for May up £60, milk powder touching £3000, diesel back up to £1.10, electric prices, and coming into paying contractors for spring work 41/42ppl isn’t going to go far.F

What sort of money is maize making per acre this year?I don’t really understand why they have put the milk price up so much so quickly. They’ve never been overly bothered before. They must be absolutely terrified that production will fall off a cliff.
I wouldn’t bank on people not expanding. The price of stock is going up and up so there’s is a growing demand and the price being offered for maize is unreal.

With wheat at 300 for November standing wheat for whole crop will be 900-1000 an acre so maize presumably similar. What sort of money is maize making per acre this year?

Which would put maize north of 60 a ton fresh weight.
