I don't think @dinderleat can have seen any news about dover in the last 10 days.

However there are other ferries and other routes to powder towers I would trust Arla to have a plan b and c and d to avoid lost milk.

Interesting message I've just had on exporting experience
"Last week I had 4 trucks of "product" en route to Germany held up by French customs in Calais.

Some minor error on the paperwork, which we still don’t understand, as we have exported several 1000 tonne this year & this was done with exactly the same procedure.

We had virtually zero assistance from Defra & the net result was that over 100 tonnes of "produce" with a cost of £70,000 were dumped as they were out of date.

Meanwhile the imports sail into the UK without a blink of the eye"

So even doing the paperwork the same way every time doesn't mean plain sailing!

spot dropped, wasn't there a factory problem somewhere, that caused that fall ?
if spring peak is over, that is good news, stuffed 2 fingers at those retailers, that thought they could drop the price, for the flush, that wasn't.

Feels like things have just got going up here, 27mm of rain in the past week has kicked growth on and we’ve not peaked yet. If supplies are indeed tightening and some of us are not at peak that can only be good news.

Helers up 1.25ppl for June, not enough in my honest opinion. Them and others clearly want to be majorly short of milk for the foreseeable. Long may it continue

when our bacto went nuts, and took months to sort, with barbers, it was the 'penalty', plus 1.5ppl for the whole month, with wyke, wouldn't have lost any !
