I thought the currency smoothing was just another way of Arla giving less money to thier members? But in secret so no one complained? All I know os first milk r paying more than muller and Arla.this makes me happy.

What a useful comment.

What a do know is they're are very few comments from Arla suppliers talking down other companies. But everyone wants a shot at Arla, never really understood why!

Maybe some people have not forgotten that a lot of arla members were early deserters from milk marque and are jealous of all the extra money the arla men have had over the years

Really? Surely most of the arla members came from milk link. With previous arla suppliers and others having 'shared up'.

@supercow is just jealous, he has been desperate to join Arla the last couple of years now but we have to be selective over who we let join or we will end up in the same mess as First Milk. Give him his month of happiness getting 0.1ppl more than Arla, after all they have had decades of misery with FM.

All I know is some people on here (mainly arla farmers) take the bait time and time again, literally winding you up, having a bit of banter. I'm not jealous, angry or anything like that, honestly just picking at all of your infrerior complex issues. Arla recruitment man is coming to visit soon to talk about a contract.

Not really misery @meekers, just focused, knowing we got paid slightly less over the years just makes you work harder and more often than not u make up the shortfall of half a penny by working harder.

I was with Milk Marquee then DFOB got put 6months before the end, lost capital retention but not the milk cheque some did.

If that is where the anger comes from its ridiculous.

In my opinion, supplying a different company and hoping Arla struggles is like getting on a plane and hoping the pilot fails.
My old fella still remembers who the original deserters were who undermined Milk Marque 21 years ago !!!!

I would have been just out of nappies by that point!

If everybody had wanted to stay together under a single umbrella like milk marquee wouldn't the competition committee have stopped or now anyway?

My old man was the same, had it banged into me as a kid about coops being great and if every stayed together we would be stronger.

20 years later we finally left FM just before their darkest days and the old man regrets every good thing he ever said about them.
