Well good luck with all that. Still avoiding the question here .. Are your fields mucky and cows in or is it wall to wall sunshine where you are ..? jtt

We got our second cut silage in the three day window last week, by cutting letting it get rained on and then lifting for 2 days. We got a lot of rain last night and looks like dairy cows will be coming in since cows have dropped in last couple of days

I couldnt go neither as had an important date with a scrap man but by the sounds of it Tony Evans endeared himself to anyone who isn't block calving.
he's come round to the same "bxllocks" I've been spouting for yrs if we all blocked calved 50% spring 50% autumn calving at the best time of yr for you and your farm the processors would get what they want and according to Tony Evans we would remove 29 million pounds from our cost base.

I thinks he's involved with 3 dairies himself all block calving at various times.

Glanbia launches five-year fixed milk price contract

Another step towards Irish dairy farmers becoming Glanbia's slaves.

Glanbia's top brass must be thinking it is an odds on certainty that milk prices are going to sky rocket over the next five years, or that the pound will strengthen massively once the uncertainty surrounding Brexit is all over. But if it doesn't then the poor folk who signed up to their wonderful offer will find feed prices their increasing to compensate.
