Milk Price Tracker

Well the do give their suppliers more notice of any price movement.
So do Arla look at Miller's price and say mmm lets top that as we are closer to the real-time information?
Even coops can if they want to follow the voluntary code.

No coops pay as much as they can. Companies pay as little as they can get away with. By leaving the decision late it helps coops pay as much as they can without a delay for the farmer. Muller's price is totally irrelevant to what Arla pay. Surely the same applies in OMSCo?

Omsco give an indicator price for up to 12 months.

Wonder where that's going to come from if this weather holds dry for much longer. Spring boys around here are getting very anxious as the grass burns up

Not just around you.

I've had 6 wagon and drags of hay in this week and 60t of PKE arriving on monday. It's fortunate the milk price is good but I'll be spending most of it on bought in feed until it starts raining.

Ultimately wont a drought be more damaging financially to 365 housed.

Autumn block I've just dried off early buying hay already have majority of grub I need for winter.

Spring block calvers piling on cake and buying hay going to take a knock but will find some milk in autumn. Using silage now and buying hay for winter

365 housed finishing first and second cut by December not enough grub or any to purchase to get them through to next year

depends if the 365 housed boys are way overstocked and live by the seat of their pants in a good forage year, weve been housed for 3 years on the bots with a tight stocking rate but have had a v healthy carryover this year and have found we have grown way more forage than in our previous system of a traditional grazing ayr calving. the spring boys round here do seem to be feeling a bit of Cheshire pressure generally
