And interesting to read the bonus has already been absorbed into the standard ltr milk price quoted by Bradley .
So is it still a bonus at all ?[/QUOTE

well, a matter of opinion, if barbers are using thermodurics as a selling point to their buyers, and achieving a higher price, then it is. if it's just another ploy to pay less for the milk, then its not. pattemores have gone .5 down, so its better than that !

For any bonus to be included in the milkprices.com standard litre price it has to be paid out on over 50% of milk. If the new bonus is already included but as of yet hasn’t been paid out then I find that strange as to how that can be, unless Barbers have proved that over 50% of its suppliers will get the bonus.

95% of all producers qualified for the bonus in April

bugger it, no, you read it right, it was the july +0.2 that threw me, bit sneaky putting it like that.
I was charged £75 for a return visit for red tractor, they came to see the cows in the cubicles, because, when we passed our last inspection, the cows were out at grass, took 5 minutes. perhaps we should look out for that one, another money scam so red tractor can get a bit more money out of us farmers, probably to increase their bonuses!!!!!!
You should have just told him/her to hang on while you bring the cows in...with grazing herds it is a good chance that the cows will be out at grass whenever we have an inspection

lets hope its not - here we go again. I have read, that there are more people going into milking, than are getting out, up north. but, if you are a sheep/beef farmer, you are on a pretty tight wicket, and I expect a milk cheque looks very attractive!perhaps the smart move would be to sell the cows now, to a milk wanabee, sell the fodder (if we get any, drought dependant) and stand back, wait, and buy a load of cheap cows back, when they decide they don't want to be a wanabee !!!!!!!!

Can think of about 8 round here going into milk, ranging from 40 cows on a 6 point second hand parlour to 120 on robots on a green field site. Give them at year at 17p and see how they get on, then I have to remind myself that Granda was a new entrant 75 years ago when he bought the farm and started milking 2 cows. Everyone who milks cows today was a new entrant at one point.

I bet milking cows and getting 17p is a dam sight better than sheep and beef with what ever is about to happen with the industry

170 +35 I/c hfrs, sold most of the autumn calvers, replaced by spring calvers, the I/c hfrs are almost certainly sold.
I will put on here, if we do decide to sell, at the moment, we are not, unless...….a stupid offer is made. we have sold a bunch to make a new entrants herd, interesting to here the positive vibes coming from him, I really hope he succeeds.

Banks will still lend if it's for dairy cows, try getting a few pound when your beef and sheep totally different ball game.
Know of one guy who has just started to milk this spring and he's putting through 180 and is delighted with his decision

Any medina suppliers had a letter today ?
I've heard they have dropped their july base price down to 25.3p for july .
Is this true? If it is must be one of the lowest-prices in the country !
