It's graduated seasonality and works off your 12 monthly rolling profile.
I was going to upload the seasonality spreadsheet calculator document on here just now, but when I downloaded it said confidential, so didn't want to upset the Muller Gestapo.
Basically, any excess spring litres get hammered, so much so that you're better off not sending any at all, and just sticking to your 12 month rolling average.
So you don’t go positive on those litres over for autumn milk?
Unfortunately not, just rumble along the average or just above, but not enough to make a material difference.
It's first time this year they've introduced it.

Used to be +4p in the Autumn and -6p in the spring. Which worked well for us but not have has the desired effect for Muller.

It's another tool Muller have created and introduced to bash the non-aligned liquid supplier even more.

Surely that’s telling you that the clearly don’t want white water? Time for a change in breeding?
It's nothing to do with milk quality, all about volume.
I could send them 8-9% solids and would still get a rogering.
They just don't want any excess spring milk.

So if you were autumn block calving with 9% solids sending less milk now than through the winter you would be worse off?
Not if you were sending less litres.

If I remember correctly wiseman/muller pay nothing for protein and not a massive amount for fat, surely though they will incentivise autumn/winter milk ?

I thought there was little on fat but big penalty for being below 4.2?I remember a big uproar when they bought out dairy crest over something like that
What feed back to you get as suppliers from them. Has there been any change in management because they seem to of got themselves into some awful contracts.

Nothing to do with quality. Just when they want/don't want the milk. They only pay a marginal amount for fat nothing for protein.
That is strange as the cream fraction is where Wiseman used to make a lot of money. Do Muller not still need cream?

Yes but not before they made a fortune out of it to start with.

I think the s/market contracts have some sort of clawback on them. If the bulk cream price goes up, the liquid contract price into s/markets is reduced.

You would find your production costs would drop through the floor presuming you’re on high yielders now
