Not really surprising since they binned their basket pricing mechanism (average of other buyers) in the spring and moved to a ‘market generated price’.

Price cut due to a drop in cream prices apparently, ironic really that their B litre (spot) price is now likely to be higher than their A price!!

The farmer is now taking all the risk on this contract now.

Freshways management can sell the milk at whatever price they like to their buyers, and also they don’t need to worry how they market any oversupply. All the cuts can now be passed directly back to suppliers through either the A or B price

I guess they can only do it if there suppliers can't find another buyer
