Into seasonally for September so should beup again. Interesting you mention working on constituents started pushing that way a few years back and all my heifers this time are either kiwi x or NZ friesian and it’s starting to work it’s way through. Feet, fertility and efficiency benefits to due to their smaller size. Won’t go too Jersey though for fear of losing calf value.

Any British friesian? I’ve started using some Irish friesian right or wrong. Time will tell I guess.

Bought heard this spring, bit of an unknown but bred to the fleck last few years. Quite a few what I think are fleck out of jersey which are nice cows. Tempted to try and find a few older autumn jersey cows to try and breed a few from. Started feeding straw, which has lifted us more around 4BF but spring cows starting to drop, few autumn calves coming in keeping volume level at the moment

We PD'd and had 13% empty empty yesterday which is my worst ever. I'll put the bulls back in November and most will probably hold so they'll be some older autumn calvers for sale from here next year.

Was breeding BF replacements for around 5 years after we stopped being a flying herd buying in the Holstein peril, BF’s sorted a lot of management issues out but I felt they were not doing the constituents and obviously getting fat as BFs do (those two traits are very much linked I think)

what else are you feeding? Straw just knocks yield in my experience, which in turn raises BF’s I know but I’m sure it’s just a work creation exercise.
