Yes as disappointing as it is I do get it.
I only commented a few weeks ago after talking to tanker driver about steps taken to stop drivers leaving and fuel costs rising that this would have consequences. Packaging costs are rising fast too.
Iv come in for lunch to an email saying our accounts package is rising 8% a month, everything is rising fast, surely due a big bang soon!

Inflation means all costs rise.
Currently the farmers costs are rising and the processors. But they are having to wear this and actually getting a deflated milk price to prevent the retailer's costs and ultimately consumers from rising. That is not how inflationary pressures should work.
Long term this is not sustainable otherwise the bang will be huge.

God forbid the cost increase gets passed onto the supermarkets!

Don't worry though I'm sure all our suppliers will be understanding of the milk price dropping and subsequently feed, fertiliser, machinery etc will all drop, oh wait... 🙄 I understand their costs are rising but so are ours funnily enough!

Maybe it will slow down arla members urge to produce more on the back of a brilliant milk price ?

That would be fine if inflation was only effecting arla farmers but all processors are going to be seeing increasing costs and the retailer's showing they are unlikely to pay so all are at risks of cuts. Some others will find any cut tricky to bear.
