Spot price is just that- a price on the day for unallocated milk.

About as much relevance to price setting as what the butcher gets for the last turkey in the shop on Xmas Eve
I'll bet you a shiny tuppence that if spot hovers around 40ppl through the winter standard milk prices will rise before they fall, spot may be a fraction of the market but its an indicator to its movement

It is strange to think to think that profitably levels seem less certain now than at the height you of the lockdown. ( for the majority of us at least.)
There’s more questions being posed than answers right now that’s for sure. Will be next to nothing invested here in the short term, given that we appear to be heading towards a reduction in stocking rate one way or another and I’m not even sure if that will stack up?

Meaning ?
Meaning that the whole economy of this country currently hangs on a very shoogley peg, a few seemingly minor unforeseen events could send it into free fall.
Would milk be collected, inputs delivered, spares for vital machinery available?
Would the lights stay on? ( rural areas likely be the first off) meanwhile cows would still need milking fed and cared for as normal.
God forbid it happens but does merit some serious thought and preparation
