If everyone is sensible, dosnt buy much expensive cake or fert, national production will drop and these firms won't of been in such a tight corner for many many years.
Trouble is whilst in one way it's nice making them squirm, I don't exactly want them to go bankrupt either. Just want a fair price which I don't think is too much to ask

I thought the basket price was a brilliant idea until about 2 months in and I realised its actually a massive limitation but hey ho

I know I shouldn't complain compared to some, but roddas 31ppl is looking pathetic now, and we are stuck on that until January
Ah yes but you don't play the dreded seasonality game we arla men have to deal with plus we have a transport cost which i daresay will go up very quietly :scratchhead: but the Arla price is a fair one but will it help cover greater cost

Volume bonus and seasonality are up for discussion in the coming months. August trough is the reason.
This made me laugh at the meeting the other night, being an historic august calver that now calves September and February after persistently telling numerous farmer managers that the carrot was not big enough. The go to response was that the scheme needed to fund the volume bonus. No way I was carrying on subsidising the 1000 cow boys.

Totally agree, using the seasonality money to fund the volume bonus is absurd. The Autumn boys need more money to balance the Spring flush. I know of Autumn block calvers shifting to Spring because they could not make the numbers stack up.
