Milk Price Tracker

I see Shelagh Hancock has taken a non exe director post at Carrs. I’d have thought when they’re delivering the lowest price to producers her time might have been better spent solely focussing on First Milk. Time for a change maybe?

I think you must have some concerns/problems with FM but as a lifetime member and supplier I am happier with FM now than for some time. They have an excellent relationship with the majority of their farmers and crucially with their customers. The price, whilst not the best, is OK and consistant, they seem to have a pragmatic approach to the climate change/regenerative farming agenda (which like it or not is a challenge we have to address). Yes I would like to be rubbing shoulders with Arla but that is the only alternative as far as I am concerned.

Not the best but it’s certainly not the lowest. If it is it’s only recently. Don’t know where the fella gets his numbers from. I’m happy with first milk too, my fat and protein I am not happy with !

You do realise if you stop buying their stuff they stop coming?
I have reps that I've never bought anything from, visit or phone atleast monthly!

I've refused to answer the phone to any of them while I've been away, phone hasn't stopped ringing. It's hilarious listening to the voicemails saying they'll drop in in a bit to "check how I am and see if I need anything"
All I think is you have fun with that 🤣🤣

must be an awful job, for younger reps, cold calling on farms, must be a thankless job, if we are there, we are to busy to stop, if we are not, its a waste of time, and only a few will buy off you.

Was impressed one day, when a rep we new well, changed firms, and turned up in our yard, in a very battered old car, the pee was taken, the reason, firms policy was to see how reps treated/drove cars, before being given a decent one.

I'm afraid I have very little sympathy for the majority of them, I've become quite good at just walking off saying sorry got to get on, they either follow me and get roped into helping with stuff or else say no worries ill send an email

I didn’t know there were that many reps on the road now. Can’t remember the last time we had a cold calling rep.

On liquid too. Further embarrassment for Saputo. Come on Beefy sort them out. DCD need to call deadlock next month regardless of what they offer. Saputo need a wake up call. They can't expect us to pay their fines, it needs to come off their profits
I would imagine the previous owners would be liable for their proportion of the incidents.

There's loads, parlour sales (plus slurry, etc), calf rearing (milk powder plus other stuff), feed reps, machinery sales, grass seed, slurry bugs just to name a few!
we only get the ones we use, cold callers don't seem to repeat the action, not sure why .........
AI reps seem to be the cold callers at the moment, they don't stay either.

I tell AI reps we use a bull, that usually nips it in the bud. We run a bull with heifers during the summer so technically not telling any lies🤣.
