Has anyone ever milked through a bail while enlarging/replacing there parlor? Is it a big hassle? We would have to milk about 150 or so through it if the other half of the herd were dry at that time of year.
What have you got now and more to the point what do you want to do/change? Plenty of refurbs done between milkings.Has anyone ever milked through a bail while enlarging/replacing there parlor? I remember milking 120 through an old Hosier 8 stall abreast timber bail as a temporary arrangement once, far from ideal.
I helped someone for a month to milk in a portable parlour, lorry chassis with the pit in the middle, proper herringbone, apart from the cows needing to go up the ramps it was far more enjoyable than the new parlour they put in
Chap near Wooler has one to hire I think

Have you bought it yet ?I agree, doesn't look too bad at all. Very similar to the one I saw couple weeks ago

In my experience yes, but not a huge problem, just need an extra person, if feeding in the bail it would be less of an issueThanks for the comments. So the main problem with a portable bail is getting the cows to walk up the ramp?
