Are you serious? You scrape all of the straw out every morning? That is some work but it must work for you because cows looks clean enough. We scrape the w

We scrape the wHow often do you have to clean the whole shed out? Is mastitis a big issue? Lovely seeing cows on straw. Do you still run a slurry pit for the front scraping or does it all go out as dung?

It's not that bad to scrape up every morning, just pull it in the middle in a line and load it up and carry out to the heap I think it's a bale in the morning and some more in the evening. Are you serious? when we was loose housed we didn’t have a very good setup and our cows were always dirty and mastitis everywhere.
how much straw do you use every day ?
We have 140 cows on straw, milked oad.
Havnt cleaned them out since 2st November when they where housed. But do use 100 grams of like per cow per day through the straw blower. Bed them morning and evening.
Warning
Do not put lime in the bedder when the cows are in the shed!!!!! So we only put the lime in when the cows are in the collecting yard in the morning
On the bale. If you put it on the bed, it just all scoots to the front.Whats the protocol for putting lime in the bedder? On top of the bale or on the bed?
