Milking parlour wall finish (tiles rite cover etc)

Hi all!

We're updating our parlour in a couple of months time. New meters, feeders, mangers and making it a little longer.

Our old one was put in in 1994, we used rite cover at the time as a wall finish and has lasted really well. However it's beginning to show its age now and is stained as expected and not so easy to keep clean as it's coming off in places.

I'm pretty anal and would like to do something now rather than just put the new gear on top of the old wall cover.

I'd love tiles but don't have or hear of any experience with them. What would it be like bolting the mangers and feeders to them?
They love them in holland!!

Rite cover again would be okay but the trouble would be is doing it in a clean and dry environment as we will keep milking through one side as the other is being done.

Other suggestions would be good please.

Not a fan of plastic sheets as sh!t can get behind them and they bulge out and miss shape etc.

Attached photos are of current set up and a Dutch parlour with tiles.

Pictures would be great please.

Thankyou in advance. Rob

That certainly looks smart with the tiles and as you say no risk of anything going behind them.

You going to be milking through a mobile parlour while your upgrading?

We're autumn block calving so should mostly be dry at the time so we will just milk the remainder few one sided. Should be less drama than setting a bail up hopefully.

My new one is just plain poured concrete and it used to drive me crazy that we couldn't keep it clean and the walls would always go green, then someone on here questioned why I wasn't just just going around spraying some hypo on once a month so this is what I do now and it stays gleaming.

I'll get a photo later.

Sorry to be a killjoy, but we have some of that fibreglass stuff. I believe it was applied in 2001 and a lot of it is now peeling/cracking off.
I can't comment you may well be correct, ours has only been in for 12 months. Someone did mention before that it may be difficult to put it on anything other than new build as you won't get it clean or dry enough. I think @pappuller has it as well

Is that a boumatic you've upgraded to? Or where was the top picture taken?

We're fullwood now and stayed with fullwood, the top pic is what I'd like it to look like with the tiles. It's a parlour in holland which they all seem to love tiles. But over here don't see too much of that and I'd like to find out more

Some of these parlour I'm seeing are ultra ultra clean compared to ours, I might have to get the power washer out tomoro. Do u put the hypo on and the sh!t just peels off? Spray with a nap Sack?
