Odd that farmers use a relief milker based on the hourly charge.

If the guy is milking 100 cows at spring flush, he's looking after getting on for £100,000 worth of stock and putting £1000 worth of milk in the tank. Missing an ailing cow or putting AB's or water in the tank and the extra tenner a shift looks good value for money.

But you've got to deal with the general public, quite honestly I'd rather have the dentist weld my mouth open and do a milking with someone shocking all the cows with electric until they sh!t than deal with the twits in a supermarket for 5 minutes!
I used to do it and dealing with the general public mostly consisted of two questions. Where is the...? And can you reach the...? I was one of the few that volunteered for night shift they were brilliant to work with, most had been there years and were on an old contract which made them lots of cash.

Being self employed and only working for one company in a full time capacity. It's fraud.
As long as you make sure its not full time not illegall. I think definition of legal is all ok as long as contractor can send replacement in if they cant make it. Gives flexibility to all parties .

We all know it is being used as a way for employers to dodge NI and pension contributions. It's literally robbing the tax payer and just isn't on.

This forum is regularly host to comments about people who refuse to work or who haven't saved to pay for their care in old age etc etc etc. This is a different end of the same approximate issue.

Here's the proper test. Are you brave enough to give it a try and share the result?
