Really? Never had a delvo fail if you're using the drug on label and give the set withhold.Even after 3 days on top of statutory withhold it can still fail. We delvo everything. To supply our milk buyer everyone on farm who administers meds to cows or calves had to do it - not just people who have had a failure. We haven't had a failure in as many years as I can remember but still learned something.
Not following cascade procedure when administering meds. For instance metcambe + intramary is 7 day withdrawl regardless of what says on the label. The training is an eye opener.Really? Never had a delvo fail if you're using the drug on label and give the set withhold.
Iirc it' not called off label now. The technical term is "cascade".Thats off label use though

Tbh I didn' know the actuall meaning of off label, not many others in the room did either.
Our vet is putting pasties on. No brainer
Off label = Delvo
On Label = No Delvo needed
I could be wrong but this is what I recall from doing the course.
I love how dairy farmers get perks. It really amuzes me every time there's a meeting to go to now we get feed where as being beef farmers you're lucky to get a coffee so it's still at the novelty point for me.Snap. I've got pub lunches this week courtesy of the BVD free scheme on Wednesday and Milksure on Friday.
That's because there can be a lot of money swilling about with milk, the key is to retain it for yourself and not line someone else's pocket uneccesarily!I love how dairy farmers get perks. When we had a Delvo fail it was on a dry cow treated with cepravin, she had the statutory withhold both in terms of days dry and days in milk withheld, but failed for several more days. It actually says on the product data sheet that milk from cows treated with cepravin should be tested before allowing back into the tank - DO NOT just rely on following the required withhold. http://www.noahcompendium.co.uk/?id=-454434
We are the ones selling the milk. We are responsible for ensuring it is safe and testing for antibiotics after use is a reasonable and sensible precaution. It also allows for incidences such as deciding not to milk out a cow fully on the first milking after calving if she has masses of milk on, as this will also affect the rate at which antimicrobials leave the body.
A Mary’s something different here in all seriousness I’m sure when it has to be done I’ll learn something as long as I get my dairy pro points for attendance I am a professional after allFor instance metcambe + intramary is 7 day withdrawl regardless of what says on the label.
12 weeks dry worksWhy are people still using cepravin ?
It's like russian roulette !!!!
