Milwaukee grease gun

I know quite a few of you have one, and I have read the comments in the workshop section but......... which one is more practical for general farm use, the 12 v or 18v? I have the 18 v batteries to go with my impact gun and a charger that does both. The cheapest I have found is £159 inc vat from ffx for 18v bare unit. Obviously if I went 12v which is cheaper I would have to buy a battery on top.

I have 12v and a couple of neighbours have 18v. Not much in it, the 18v is quite a bit heavier but has a longer hose, can set the number ofpumps on 18v can’t on 12v . 12v possibly slightly less pressure. On balance if I were a heavy user I would go for 18v but don’t run many machines now so happy with 12v. If you go for 12v there are quite a few 12v tools that are really good and you’ll be glad you have both types of battery!

Your Milwaukee should have a relief on the pipe anyway that you push? When I use the gwaza quick connect lock n lube, the pressure that thing can put down a line ( if we go what AVE on YouTube says 12000 psi) you can’t get the fudger back off otherwise.

They dont have a valve to unload pressure in pipe. They just lock on then you either knacker the coupler seal getting it off or break the nipple.

All Quick covers are useless bulky things no good for me.

I've got an Alemite relief valve fitted on my Milwaukee (y)

Is that on the head?

There is a bung on head but when I took it out theres a ball and spring in there.

I guess so long as the spring still sits right on the Alemite valve and the thread depth is same it would work same as the Alemite gun does. Just a bit crap milwaukee dont actually offer it as an option or better still dont know why no one builds a release in as standard!
