I've always been told 3 ton but I don't see any reason why they shouldn't do 2.
All the firms I deal with set the price breaks on the odd number of tons whereas most lorries seem to be sectioned to carry even numbers.

3 tonne minimum order, but the rates are set a 5 tonne, less than 5 tonne youpay more per tonne, over 5 tonne you a bit less, all done on a sliding scale to cover haulage,
Now if you want just 2 tonne only, then buy it in tote bags,
Or they will deliver a 1 tonne order if it is going with over 5 tonne of a different product at same time, ie 7 tonne of dairy cake and 1 tone of calf pellets on same lorry same delivery

Is it a good idea to get a second hand bin? Or just jump for a new one, I'd be looking around 3-5 ton size

I’ve been looking and also priced up collinsons and a few other new ones.

But I’ve decided I want some thing I can also bucket home grown cereals into to mix with a protein pellet to make my own mix to go in 3:1 feeders I use.

I have one on legs but I don’t know if I would want to put home made mix or blend in it, I don’t think it would flow that well as the cone isn’t steep enough, I have to bang the side to get nuts to flow when it’s near the end.

it’s going to be mainly oats so they flow pretty well normally
