to run a ATU300 steering wheel, do I need a 2630 screen ( and dome) with activation code or can I use the standard Gen4 command arm screen?

Tractor is greenstar ready but read in small print that SF3 requires 2630 screen. is it same for SF2 ?

sorry not very tech savvy. thanks

Greenstar ready or auto steer ready. There is a difference. If it is auto steer ready with a gen 4 screen all you need is a reciever and auto steer unlock. Sf3 works on gen 4 screen no problems. It’s the receiver that sets the accuracy level. Needs to be a sf6000 receiver.

If you don’t have a auto steer ready tractor and you want to use an atu I believe you will need a 2630 and standalone harness.

I thought an atu was a stand alone harness etc so it's moveable where the way your looking at doing it it's tied to that one tractor as you can't take the screen out where as with a 2630 you can put it in anything else you want to

yes youre right, I could use a 2630 and Atu on a non-greenstar ready tractor. however my later 6155r has gen4 and GS ready but not auto-trac ready

The ATU is a controller in its own right, I may be wrong but there’s probably an adapter harness to plug into a “greenstar ready” tractor to talk to the can-bus system. Once you have an autotrac universal activation it should work.
The only benefit of getting a 2630 screen is you can move that activation to another machine, if you put the activation on your gen4 tractor screen it’s stuck with the tractor.

Personally I’d be looking into this offer if I was getting a universal kit.

Would it not be cheaper putting the steering valve on as all the rest should be there already?
There’s a little more to it than just bolting a valve on, you’d also need the axle position sensor, ssu controller and pressure sensor for the cutout.

It would be easier than putting it onto a non GS ready tractor tho
I was thinking the steering angle sensor would be there already or is it a different one they use to the fwd/diff lock cut out one?
Can you not keep the activation code now I know someone who just swapped one from one tractor to another on an R but not sure if it would be gen 4?

Actually think your probably right, total forgot the WAS (wheel angle sensor) is standard on an non auto tractor R series.
Wouldn’t know able swapping activations though, as far as I was aware once it assigned to a machine/screen serial number that was it. They may have changed thins now though, I always thought it was a bit wrong paying thousands for an activation and not been able to transfer it to a new machine!

The guy I'm on about was told the same as you that it had to stay with the tractor but they certainly swapped one recently

We had 6150 r retro fitted auto trac only made feasible with cab strut upgrade so they put wiring loom while cab was off
