540 continentals on the front of JD6930 are cracking up internally. Leaking air tubeless and put tube in and is pinched by cracks in tyre, No visible signs of cracking on outside. 10 yrs. old and 3500 hours. Been quoted for Mitas replacements. Are they any better than continental ? Or do I go for something much more expensive ?

BKT, have got a set of continentals on a JD 6430 the same age as yours with the same hours and the same problems!, and they will be replaced with BKT. They seem to be getting on very well around here.

As I understand it, Mitas have made the Conti tyres since 2004 under contract and license, but Conti themselves are out from the end from this year. They will now all be Mitas brand.
That is, unless Conti decide to relaunch their own new-design tractor tyres again in future under their own brand name.
